England, Northern Ireland and now Wales have all qualified for Euro 2016 with one game (or more for England) left in their respective qualifying groups.
Last Thursday Northern Ireland beat struggling Greece 3-1 to secure their place in France next summer. The Republic of Ireland also had a great night surprisingly beating Germany 1-0 and leaving their qualification fate in their own hands. However, despite a valiant performance from Scotland (against Poland) a last-minute equalizer from in-form Robert Lewandowski killed off any small hope the tartan army had of reaching France. The next day, an already qualified England carried on the success of Home Nations by beating a part-time Estonia side 2-0 in a less than impressive performance. Finally, last night Wales made it 3 Home Nations in France next summer as they lost 2-0 to Bosnia-Hersgovina but luckily Cyprus beat Israel confirming that Chris Colmean’s boys will be up against the best next summer.
Many people believe that this has been the best qualification for the Home Nations ever and with Rep. of Ireland only needing to beat Poland tonight (or 2-2 draw or higher) to clinch promotion. Can they make it 4 out of 5 for the Home Nations??!!!
