Steven Naismith (above was) the star of the show as Everton stunned the Champions Chelsea at Goodison Park. The Everton Midfielder came on for Muhamed Besic (who was injured by Kurt Zouma) after about 10 minutes before heading in a Galloway cross. But no Naismith was not done yet, 5 minutes later a well hit left-footed strike put Everton 2-0 up before Nemanja Matic hit a screamer from 30 yards past a helpless Tim Howard in the 36th minute. At the start of the second half Chelsea were on top, but an inspired performance from Eveton’s defence, including a certain John Stones who Chelsea tried to buy in the summer, kept the blues out until Steven Naismith latched onto a perfectly weighted through-ball from Barkley to wrap up the match ball with a perfect Hat-trick (Header, Left-Foot, Right-Foot) and the three points for Everton.
In the weekends other matches, Crystal Palace put up an inspired defensive performance against Sergio Agueroless (injured in the 20th minute) Man City only to concede a 90th minute Kelichi Ihean… (Let’s just call him Kelicichi) Goal.
Arsenal beat Stoke in one of the most one-sided 2-0 wins I’ve ever seen.
Norwich beat Bournemouth 3-1 thanks to a great performance from Wes Hoolahan.
Watford beat Swansea 1-0 to clinch their first win of the season.
West Brom drew 0-0 with Southampton.
And Man Utd beat Liverpool 3-1 in a match that featured a stunning Christian Benteke Overhead kick and an Antonhy Martial (Man U’s 39 million pound deadline day signing) solo run goal.
Today, Tottenham beat Sunderland 1-0 thanks to a Ryan Mason goal and Nathan Dyer completed a brilliant Leicster comeback (from 2-0 down) as they beat Aston Villa 3-2.
And tomorrow West Ham play Newcatle in the Monday night kick-off. After that, it’s all over for another week…and then it all starts again!!!
