Rugby: International Friendlies

The last round of international friendlies before the 2015 Rugby World Cup (starting on Friday 18th of September) ended this weekend with a solid win for England.

Jonny May got England off to a great start against Ireland scoring a great try before a superb kick by George Ford found Antonhy Watson and the England youngster found the try-line. Ford then pushed England’s lead to 15-3 before a Paul O’ Connell try (converted) and a Johnny Sexton penalty put Ireland just two points behind. After a nervy spell Owen Farrell wrapped up the victory with 2 penalties.                                                                                                                                          Final Score: England 21-13 Ireland

In the days other matches Wales beat Italy 23-19 only to have 2 key players ( Halfpenny and Webb) injured which may effect their participation at the world cup. Also Scotland lost a thriller to France 19-16, a Noa Nakaitaci try preventing the scots from getting their first win in Paris in 16 years.
